We start as always with Andrew and the Dewing Grain market report for week commencing 27th January 2020.

In Farmchat Andrew and Webby meet with our second Nuffield Scholar of recent weeks, Sam Steggles of Fielding Cottage. 10 years ago Sam went on holiday and came home with 10 goats. Starting off at farmers’ markets, his cheese-making business has gone from strength to strength and now supplies supermarkets and farm shops. Sam talks about the importance of following your dreams and ignoring the naysayers and how grants have helped his business to grow. He’ll soon be heading off to Australia, New Zealand, South Africa and, possibly, China in his capacity as Nuffield Scholar, focusing on food business growth.

In a change to our normal format, this week we sample a couple of cheeses brought along by Sam: Norfolk Mardler and Wensum White. Based on the amount Andrew and Webby put away, both were a big hit.

To find out more about Sam’s cheeses check out Fielding Cottage.
